Competitive Advantage II

VidWare’s CODECs have the following competitive advantages over companies using the standard reference code in their products.

·  Optimized for Performance: Faster Process Speed
The H .264 reference code is just that: a reference code. It is designed to prove the theory encompassed by the H .264 documentation. It is structured to demonstrate implementation techniques rather than as a basis for production software. VidWare H .264 code has an increased performance over the reference code, i.e. faster process speed, in some cases, by more than an order of magnitude.

·   Easily Customizable
Greater Value for OEM Customers/Clients requiring special modifications to the standard CODEC.  This can be easily accommodated as VidWare fully controls the structure and architecture of the code.  VidWare expects a higher value for VidWare products for OEM customers than reference-based H.264 products.

·   Highly Flexible Programs: Shorter Time-to-Market
As the standard matures, provision has been made to include enhancements and updates. By being fully conversant with all the features and functions within the code, VidWare can incorporate these changes quickly, resulting in a shorter time-to-market.

·   No Open Source Code: Secure Program
The reference software is provided by the standards committee and is thus “Open Source” software. Government, Military and Security Services users are becoming increasingly concerned with using software based on Open Source Code because of security issues. As VidWare has developed all of the code, it can show an audit trail that guarantees the security of the software.

·   Easier to Support: Competitive Cost-of-Ownership
VidWare has implemented test scenarios and provided test points and outputs, allowing any problem to be rapidly resolved.  These tools facilitate product releases and ensure VidWare a reduced cost-of-ownership.
